Fight fire with water

Although this may seem logical, the high amount of oxygen in water may actually feed the fire. More often than not you can douse a fire with water and successfully put it out, but, for example, an oil fire requires something like baking soda to put out. Throw as much water as you want on it and it will only get bigger.
Your best bet is to fight fire with a licensed fire extinguisher. Always follow safety instructions!
