Nursery rhyme (comptine in french) are playing an important role in today's children education. Maybe it'll bother some of you because they're in french, but here are the ones that I used to sing when I was still a little kid, both in their original and translated versions.

Ah! vous dirai-je maman

Ainsi font, font, font

Alouette

Am stram gram

Au clair de la lune

A la claire fontaine

Fais dodo Colas mon p'tit frère

Frère Jacques

Je vais a l'etable

Le bon roi Dagobert

Lundi matin

M

Maman les p'tits bateaux

Meunier tu dors

Promenons nous dans les bois

S

Savez vous planter les choux

Sur le pont d'Avignon

Une souris verte

A really good book on French nursery rhymes is
100 comptines by Henriette MAJOR
published in 1999.
ISBN : 2-7621-2082-9

This book is an anthology of one hundred 'comptines' organized by themes, musical notations are included. It also comes with an Audio CD of all the songs so children can sing along.
