This orchestral piece from the Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (opus 46) is one of Grieg's best known. It has been used for many different purposes, including Alton Towers' television advertising. It sounds very slow and dull at the start, until a few accelerandi later on get it up to an interesting speed. It carries on, repeating the same theme more and more frantically, until the final few dramatic notes.
