The Sava River is a river in southeastern Europe. It is an important affluent of the Danube River. It rises in the Julian Alps, northwest Slovenia, and flows southeast, joining the Danube at Belgrade, Serbia. It is about 940 kilometers long (584 miles), and is navigable for 583 kilometers (362 miles).
