Alan Sokal, a NYU
physicist, decided to
prove to the
world that
postmodern philosophy had gotten
muddled in its
thinking. So, he sent a
paper entitled "
Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity" that contained equal parts
nonsense and
postmodern buzzwords in to the respected
journal Social Text. They
published it, thereby proving his
point.
