The Star Trek Collectible Trading Card Game was an attempt by Decipher Incorporated to fleece millions from the American public. A pitiful ripoff of Richard Garfield's Magic: The Gathering, the game involved spending hundreds of dollars on packs of cards, looking for the all-powerful Jean-Luc Picard who could win any mission easily. A typical example of how not to design a trading card game.

An interesting game wherein players assemble ships and crew members, then attempt to overcome dilemmas and complete missions. Less combat-oriented than Magic: the Gathering. Expansions include Alternate Universe, Q Continuum, First Contact, and Deep Space Nine. One of the more successful of the glut of CCG's that flooded the market after Magic: the Gathering. Only a fool would spend hundreds of dollars to play.
