TCDW

Forestry, like all bureaucratic industries, requires acronyms for everything.

TCDW are critters that use holes in trees for nesting. Primary cavity users excavate a hole, while secondary cavity users move in to a pre-existing one. TCDW include:

• Flying squirrel
• Wood ducks
• tree swallows
• common goldeneye
• Northern Flicker
• Eastern Bluebird
• American Kestrel
• various bats, squirrels, and very skinny bears
