A delightful potato-based food product along the lines of hash browns or potato fritters. They are bite-sized, cylindrical nuggets of deep-fried potato goodness.

Introduced to the public in 1952 by the Ore-Ida potato processing company, Tater Tots are still a best seller for Ore-Ida's parent company, Heinz. Tater tots, Onion Tater Tots, Microwave Tater Tots are certified Kosher. And in case dipping them in ketchup isn't enough for you, the Ore-Ida Web site (http://www.tatertot.com/) has recipes submitted by consumers, from German PoTater Tot Salad, Pineapple Cranberry Tater Tot Pudding, Tater Tot Crab Melt, plus miscellaneous stir frys and casseroles featuring the versatile Tater Tot. Just thinking about such creations is making my arteries harden.
