The Bone Collector

WARNING: This will blow mostly all of the plot of The Bone Collector. If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, read no further. You have been warned...

Lincoln Rhyme, legendary homicide detective, was the victim of an accident that left him paralysed from the neck down, except for one index finger. He is thinking about committing suicide, when a case comes up for him. Since he can't go to the crime scene himself, Amelia Sachs (Amelia Donaghy in the movie) goes in his place and contacts him as much as she can.

Soon after, more seemingly unconnected murders are committed in different places and in different sadistic ways. As Rhyme and Sachs attempt to decipher the clues that the killer has left behind, the killer decides to go after Rhyme...

Four brutal and sadistic murders that look OK on screen. That's really the only positive comment you can give - the rest of it is pretty boring. Angelina Jolie (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Beyond Borders) and Denzel Washington (Out Of Time, Malcolm X) play halfway decent roles however, and the Rhyme vs. Killer sequence at the end gave it a bit more zing.

I rate this movie 5/10
