"The Burkiss Way (to Dynamic Living)" was a very popular sketch based radio comedy show on BBC Radio 4 lasting 5 or 6 seasons (depending upon your viewpoint) between 1974 and 1980. As with many such shows it was recorded in front of a live audience at the BBC's Paris Studios on Regents Street (since closed).

It showcased the writing of Andrew Marshall and David Renwick (who went on to create "Whoops Apocalypse", "One Foot in the Grave", "2 point 4 children", and "Jonathan Creek").

Other writers such as Douglas Adams wrote occasional sketches (including the briefing of a repeat Kamikaze pilot - in "Become a Rock Star the Burkiss Way").

One favourite character was Eric Pode of Croyden whose appearance would be met by loud cheers from the studio audience.
