The Congaree Swamp National Monument

A little-known and little-visited national park located in Hopkins, SC, just south of Columbia, SC.

One of the very, very last hardwood swamps left in existence; and, consequently, one of the largest, or perhaps even the largest.

Home of some mighty tall timbers. A couple of record-holders among them.

A place that can be so serene.. it is achingly beautiful, an epiphany.

A place I have seen covered in snow.

A place that means a lot to me.

A place that everyone should visit (but not too many everyones 'cause then it'd get crowded, and nobody wants that).
