The High Church Baptist

A sobriquet for Peter J. Gomes, the minister of Harvard University's Memorial Church and Professor of Christian Morals. In recent years, he has become more prominent, having published a study of the bible called The Good Book, and also having come out as a gay man. The nickname was inspired by his high church leanings in liturgy, despite his low church American Baptist affiliation.
