In an attempt to distinguish
Drexel from
Penn, the
Drexel Administration once thought it would be a good idea if the buildings on
campus were constructed with orange bricks, as opposed to the dark red bricks seen at Penn. As a result, most buildings constructed on
campus feature an
ugly orange color. Known on
campus as a
synonym for a
bad idea. Basis of the Orange Brick Awards, which are mostly awarded to members of the
Drexel Administration.
