A bumpersticker I saw once in Denver, Colorado. It embodies several sentiments which I hold dear. Firstly, that humanity will only reach out into the rest of the universe after taking some risks, being daring and adventurous, and generally being willing to do exciting, weird stuff. Everyone who isn't willing to take part in these activities can safely be left on Earth, since that is clearly where they want to stay anyway. Thus they will be conveniently culled out of the spacegoing population, leaving us free of their dead weight.

Many geeks have a fantasy of shucking off the portions of human philosophy and society which they feel are holding them back; this phrase is an expression of that idea.
