Religion can be bad, just as anything else can be bad. It apparently caused the religious right to appear, although I'm not altogether convinced that they, or some faction like them, would not exist without religion.
Religion caused huge amounts of bloodshed in the past, and is causing more now. Anything which can do this, like nuclear power or guns, must be bad, right? (mild sarcasm)
Religion seems to have caused classical music to spring into existence. All truly modern people hate classical music, right? (sarcasm)
Religion's fundamental underpinnings are unproven and unprovable. Kurt Godel be damned, no wait hell doesn't exist so neither does damning, uh, screwed, I won't believe in anything not provable! (you get the idea)
Religion, like all other inventions of evil, yucky mankind, is evil and yucky.

If it is true that one cannot infer God's existence without someone telling you about him/her/it/whatever, then where did the idea come from?
