A
laser in which the
population inversion is caused by a highly energetic
chemical reaction instead of things such as an
electric discharge or
light. It can be used to build extremely powerful
lasers, and is the method used for most current
laser weapons research. Common fuel mixes include
hydrogen and
flourine.
