The Cingulate Gyrus is a brain structure that is part of the limbic system. It plays a large role in the control of emotion. This structure receives input from the cerebral cortex, emotional structures of the limbic system, and from brain structures that control movement. Stimulation of the cingulate gyrus produces negative or positive emotions, and damage to the cingulate gyrus impairs language and walking ability.
