The past, as selected by radio consultants and similar scum, from a narrow list of hits of the 60's/70's. Is it classic, or just popular? A truer name would be "Oldies for the Clueless". Just say no. A real classic rock station makes room for: old B-sides by The Who, "Venus In Furs", "Psychotic Reaction", a Stooges bootleg or two, "EMI", and cuts from The Paupers' debut vinyl. It would also know the non-MTV 80's.

Some "classic rock" stations are now moving out of the 60's and 70's and including songs from the 80's as well, but only those few songs that could be older in style. Nonetheless, classic rock radio gets terribly monotonous and boring after a while.
