Coaxial mount (also known as co-ax mount) guns are smaller weapons (usually machine guns) on a tank which are mounted in-line with the main gun, so that aiming the main gun aims the smaller gun. In this manner, the tank gunner can fire smaller weapons for antipersonnel or suppression purposes without wasting main gun ammunition.
