An intentionally misleading moniker given to a person, place, thing or idea in order to keep said object's purpose or existence a secret.

The codenames for a few of Apple's computers:
  • Macintosh 128k: Macintosh
  • Macintosh 512k: Fat Mac
  • Macintosh Plus: Mr. T
  • Macintosh SE: Mac ±, PlusPlus, Aladdin, Freeport, Maui, Chablis
  • Macintosh SE/30: Green Jade, Fafnir
