A reference to Star Trek IV, from a dialog as follows:

Spock: Your use of language has altered since our arrival. It is currently laced with, shall we say, more colorful metaphors, "double dumb-ass on you" and so forth.

Kirk: Oh, you mean the profanity?

Spock: Yes.

Kirk: Well that's simply the way they talk here. Nobody pays any attention to you unless you swear every other word.

Spock and Kirk are in the bus and there's puck rocker (Kirk Thatcher (Hey! I just noticed his first name. Cool!)) across the aisle with loud punk rock playing on his boom box.
Kirk asks him to turn it down.
The punk looks at him and turns up the volume.
Kirk shouts over the music, "I said turn down that damn noise!"
The punk give 'em the finger.
Spock uses the ol' Vulcan Neck Pinch on him and the entire bus cheers.

Then Spock asks the above.

Leading up to the best line of the film: One damn minute, Admiral.
