In the movie/film world, this term usually refers to a version of a movie which becomes available after the original release, and may contain different takes or edits of certain scenes, or indeed scenes not included in the original release. The term is self-explanatory beyond that.

It raises the question: whose `cut' was the original release? Investors' Cut?
