A form of depression, resulting from an intense dissatisfaction in one's situation or surroundings, and intensified by the feelings of disappointment and abandonment that can so often be produced in the modern workplace. Extreme cases of this can result in unpredictable behavior, including violence against coworkers, family, or friends. The term was popularized at the same time the phrase "go postal" was coined; the event which instantly added the phrase to our cultural lexicon was perpetrated by a Disgruntled Postal Worker.
