Exosomatic memory is the ultimate goal of information systems.

With an exosomatic memory system, finding information will be just like remembering it, only you didn't know it before.

This is the foundation of most artificial intelligence systems in science fiction and the real world, and assumes the system has a detailed mental model of the user.

Unlike most information systems, where "one size fits all," these are each tailored to individual users.
