American film-Eyewitness-1981

directed by Peter Yates and starring William Hurt and Siqourney Weaver.

A simple murder mystery wrapped around the false story that a janitor (Hurt) uses to try and meet his dream girl-TV report (Weaver). Although I do not think this is the best film made by either of the stars, it is interesting to watch because they are both so young. There is one particularly compelling scene where Hurt tries to impress Weaver with an eloquent description of his floor waxing prowess.

When I buff, it really shines, do you know what I mean?

thanks to imdb.
