Physically lacking a face (frequently in nightmares, mine at least).

Or, no, more often, metaphorical: anonymous, lacking any distinguishing characteristics, not individualized in any way - faceless bureaucracy, faceless enemy. Not generally a good thing. We like to know (& humanize) what we're up against.
