A Chinese god who's found in the kitchen because most arguments occur in the kitchen. He watches over the household and at the lunar new year ascends to heaven to report to Huang Ti, the yellow Emperor about the behaviour of the family.

It is customary to smear honey on the lips of the kitchen god before new years so he's only able to say sweet things.

Sometimes he appears as calligraphy on a piece of paper. So where are his lips then?
