Pronounced "la beez", this is a
French expression for the endearing habit of
kissing girls on both sides of the
face on
greeting and on saying
goodbye.
Call it la bise or bise bise it's still the greatest thing since sliced french bread and it beats the hell out of shaking the ladies hand.
Some older men in France still kiss other men in the same way as a greeting. This gives me the willies personally but I 'spose it's still a nice, friendly thing to do. It is also something, for those of you who have never kissed a man that will remind you of the need to shave on a regular basis.
