The practice of continually trying to persuade others that your programming language of choice is the most appropriate for the task in hand, regardless of whether there is any technical justification for the suitability of the language or not.

Language evangelism is most often practiced by those who program exclusively in PERL, Python or Java or who consider a shell script to be an appropriate form for a web browser.
