The most popular kind of chocolate in Britain (which incidentally has the highest chocolate consumption per head of population in the world). British style milk chocolate is made with a combination of a minimum 20% cocoa content and 20% minimum milk content, giving the chocolate a yummy creamy flavour. This kind of chocolate is also the most popular in Ireland and in the Scandinavian countries.

Traditional European milk chocolate has a composition of at least 25% cocoa and 14% milk, resulting in a big argument within the EU as to whether British chocolate could be sold labelled as "milk chocolate" on mainland Europe. Eventually after many years of squabbling and millions of (pounds | euros | dollars) (delete as appropriate) being spent, the Eurocrats decided that British chocolate could be sold abroad if it was labelled as "family milk chocolate"
