Onomotovisua (
OH-no-mah-tow-vizh-yew-ah): Something which is named the way it looks. A word that doesn't exist but should, damn it. See
onomotopoeia for the root. For example, the
World Trade Center in New York is called the '
Twin Towers.' This is the more
literal usage; ideally, the object name should
evoke a non-defined visual image. Naming a
Rorshach Blot image is an example. Much of
ASCII Poetry is onomotovisual.
