Mandrake says:
The Ed appeared, as it were, in thin air. Though, as has been revealed already, it was not in fact in air. This causes quite a predicament for every fun loving and more importantly air breathing organism. But because Ed is ever so charming, so cute and so endearing it convinced a dolphin to breath for it. Now this arrangement while producing the effect that Ed desired also posed new and far more challenging if somewhat less terminal issues. First of which was the predicament of connecting a plants respiratory system to that of a dolphin. Some people have argued for the inclusion of plant DNA in humans so that we can breathe in carbon dioxide and therefore be our own rainforests. Those peoples requests were granted, on them alone, and much amusement was gained as the greenies all died in the next rainfall. For while a plant can breathe happily through its pores a human cannot. Humans aren't known for drinking through their nostrils, at least not civilized ones. So as the rain fell on their skin the greenies drowned. This was a mistake! Well the greenies deaths weren't that was intentional, the whole cross breathing thing was. Ed had never heard of this event which happened in an above water region of the Earth but then Ed didn't need to. Ed had a very advanced intellect for a plant, it should be noted at this point that most plants are relatively surprised whenever they produce a flower or nut. Evolution never really set intelligence as a requirement of survival. Ed simply told the dolphin never to dive for too long a period away from the surface. The dolphin at first thought this wasn't going to be a very good idea because it couldn't chase its food as well but the ever devious Ed charmed all the fish to come closer. Ed had killer looks! *° ed says: Stuart says:
