I'm a 23 year old programmer currently living in Staines, just outside London in England until my housemate gets her security clearance for Customs and we can move into the city. I do not like Staines.

I work programming financial software for a company that produces software that manages IPOs. It's a legacy system written in C that is finally getting updated to at least use a database, and the code is nasty. Not very exciting, but it pays the bills.

Interests:

• Clubbing and dance music - mainly acid techno, techno and hard house, but anything else I like as well. Have been going to a lot more squat parties recently rather than regular clubs, but I still manage to get to Whirl-y-gig and Planet Angel every month.
• Reading - I enjoy fantasy (esp. Robert Jordan, George R. R. Martin, Raymond E. Feist and Mercedes Lackey), science fiction (esp. Stephen Baxter, Greg Bear, Greg Egan and David Brin) and popular science (esp. John Gribbin, Michio Kaku and David Green). I need to find some more space in my house for all the books I have :)
• Computers - I run Windows and Linux and do a spot of programming every so often, though not nearly as much as I used to before I got a social life. Apart from that I use it for making music using various tools such as Cubase, Buzz and Sound Forge, and connecting to the internet.
