Kickback is the
NATO reporting name for the
Russian Kh-15P, a medium range solid-rocket
cruise missile. It reaches
speeds of up to
mach 5, with a range of between 150 and 200km. It
can be used in the
anti-radiation or anti-shipping role, carrying a
250kg
conventional warhead.
The Tu-22M Backfire can carry several of these missiles, and
the Tu-160 Blackjack can carry even more. The anti-radar version
of these missiles would be used to cut a swath
through enemy air defenses prior to a strike.
