Hudson soft's answer to
ninja gaiden or
kung fu for the
NES,
Ninja Spirit is somewhat more
simplistic, plot-wise, than
ninja gaiden, but more
attractive and
exciting than
kung fu. Makes good use of the
TurboGrafx 16's standard turbo controller - if you arent constantly attacking, you are doing something wrong!
the game was a simple graphics show for the very early pc engine, and therefore has some minor problems - level and boss names were not translated into english, they are written in old style calligraphic red kanji. The plot is minimalistic - no reasons are given for your encounters with bosses, and you only realize the signifigance of the opening sequence when you have beaten the game.
Overall, the game's simplicity does not interfere with your fun with it. It is a must have for any TurboGrafx 16 owner.
