A solitary belltower in the middle of the South Kensigton campus of Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine (now sadly rebranded as Imperial College London)
The tower, standing in the Queen's Lawn, houses a peal of bells hung for change ringing, as can be found in many English churches.
It is reputed that the band
Queen took their name from this monument. Both
Brian May and
Roger Taylor attended the college, where they were part of a three piece band called
Smile, which broke up shortly before Queen was formed.
