This now popular
electronic music magazine (pronounced 'Accelerator') began in 1993 as little more than a twelve-page underground publication dealing with
Seattle's local
rave scene. Now based out of
San Francisco, CA, it enjoys a place among many other "
alternative" magazines on
chain bookstore shelves all across the nation, and even overseas.
Generally, it features the common fare of reader input, sometimes incisive critique having to do with some of the more recent
trends in
dance music, and
interviews with both
mainstream and independent electronic artists alike (e.g.
Aphex Twin,
Dj Shadow,
Dillinja). It tends to be targetted at both the music maker/
producer as well as the general consumer.
