One who
excels at
chess to the point at which the only
acceptable competition includes other
masters. Said
masters include
flesh-and-blood entities as well as those defined by
silicon and
binary.
These
silicon and
binary versions are generally
sneered at by the
flesh-and-blood versions because their
algorithms that define the decisions they make are merely
game trees with
heuristics applied. There is no real "
thinking" that goes on.
But is there? What is different about the interaction of
neurons in the
human brain other than an perceived
abstraction placed upon the
experience?
Examples
include:
Deep Blue
Bobby Fischer
Kasparov
