A phrase used to describe the
method of aiming a
firearm.
Closed aperture sights refers to several different ways of designing and aiming a firearm. On a closed aperture sight, the rear sight is usually either a pin-hole sight or some other complete circle-forming piece of metal. Looking through this device, in effect, seals off the rest of the distracting world and gives a clear view to the second sight, which is used to point the barrel in the correct direction of discharge.
