Far Appalachia: Following the New River North is a book written by
Noah Adams published in March, 2002.
The book covers the history of the
New River and the region surrounding it, and manages to include recipes for traditional
Appalachian cooking, side stories about
coal mining, and the various colorful personalities who inhabited the region.
Noah Adams stated that as a resident and native of
Appalachia he wanted to know more about the region, so he started to research the history of the region in general and found that the most compelling stories surrounded the
New River.
