Aqua-Fontis is
spring water, used in a
Robert Burns poem or two, as it is (or was) in the Scottish
vernacular.
I quote from "A True Story" written
1785....
"Calces o' fossils, earths, and trees;
True sal-marinum o' the seas;
The farina of beans an' pease,
He has't in plenty;
Aqua-fontis, what you please,
He can content ye.
