Super Bowl IX|Super Bowl XI
January 18, 1976
The Steelers won their second straight Super Bowl championship title despite a rally in the 4th quarter by the Cowboys.
Pittsburgh's famous defense kept Dallas scrambling, with Cowboys QB Roger Staubach having 3 passes picked off by the Steelers. Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw had no such difficulties, and had a stellar game, including a 64-yard touchdown pass to MVP wide receiver Lynn Swann. Swann set a new record for pass reception yardage in this game with a total of 161 yards gained on 4 receptions.
Attendance for the game in Miami was 80,187. Chuck Noll was the head coach for Pittsburgh, and smart dresser Tom Landry headed up the Cowboys.
