Corruption is when someone or a group of people abuse power for their own personal gain. Most corrupt people who are caught red handed tend to claim that simply because they have earned the position they are allowed to use it for their own personal gain. Much like Nixon tried to claim Executive Privledge after a group of people under his orders broke into the Democratic national Headquarters in the Watergate motel.
