90s indie pop band featuring ex-members of the seminal "twee" popsters Talulah Gosh.

Subsequent to the death by suicide of original Heavenly drummer Mathew Fletcher, the Heavenly moniker was retired and the band re-emerged after a short hiatus as the sleeker and shinier Marine Research.

Also a British Record Label responsible for launching the careers of Saint Etienne, Manic Street Preachers, Flowered Up, East Village, The Rockingbirds and Dot Allison.

Heavenly are a French Power Metal band,(i.e not the 90's indie pop band) founded in 1994, by vocalist and front man Benjamin Sotto and drummer Maxence Pilo. Initially they began as a cover band covering songs from bands such as Iron Maiden and Helloween. All until Ben uncovered a hidden talent for writing songs of his own.

Soon after they were formed, they became associated with Noise Records. Upon finding more suitable guitarist and a bassist, Heavenly began work on their first album in 2000. When "Coming From The Sky" came out, it shot up the best sellers list on Noise Records. Heavenly launched into their first tour, supporting Stratovarius on their "infinite" tour.

Soon after the tour ended, Heavenly were back to writing for their second album. Frédéric Leclercq replaced the old guitarist, and the bassist was replaced with Pierre-Emmanuel Pelission. The band seemed to work together well and soon came out with another scorcher of an album "Sign Of The Winner" in 2001. So began a full European tour with Edguy, following this, a second guitarist by the name of Charley Corbiaux. After a few months on the road, Heavenly settled down to write their third (and in my honest opinion - best) album to date.

The concept album "Dust To Dust" told a story of a man, afflicted by a vampire bite - condemned to roam the earth for eternity, ever fighting the urge to become the bloodsucking creature that gave him his curse.

Since this albums release, Guitarist, Bassist, and Drummer; Frédéric Leclercq, Pierre-Emmanuel Pelission, and Maxence Pilo (respectively) have left the band to pursue their own musical careers. Since their departure they have been replaced by Olivier Lapauze (guitar) Mattieu Plana (bass) and Thomas Das Neves (drums)
