Teleport Inc. is an ISP in Portland, OR. It was one of the first large ISP's in the nation and was a pretty progressive place back in the day. Now it is bloated and festering. Mim and Matt used to work there. So did I. So did almost all of the Lobsters. Teleport is also a word to describe the disassembly of matter in one location and reassembly of it in another, ala Star Trek

Also a line of modems made by Apple Computer for Macintosh computers. They ranged from the Teleport Bronze, at 2400 bps up to the Teleport Mercury at 56 kbps. Instead of using an AC wall adapter like most external modems, the Teleports drew power from the Mac's ADB port.
