Ministers who work mainly in
television; the gig is as old as
radio. To a TV station, they're as indispensible as
infomercials. They often pastor real
churches, but in many cases that church is also a TV
studio, akin to Ted Turner's baseball stadium being a
TBS studio. It's a pejorative, mainly because we a$$ociate it with its famou$-name practitioner$; there are, in fact, many cool folks on
the tube, like
Charles Stanley and
George Rutler, who'd much rather enlighten than fleece.
