Famous play of a 1972
NFL playoff game.
4th and 10 at the
Pittsburgh Steelers 40. 22 seconds left. The
Oakland Raiders lead 7-6. Steelers
quarterback Terry Bradshaw, scrambling, throws a
Hail Mary pass deep into Raiders territory. The
football bounces off a defender's chest into the hands of blocker
Franco Harris, who would have been
ineligible except for the ball touching the defender. Harris ran for a
touchdown, the Steelers won.
They lost the next week to
Miami.
