| Si Wang-mu was the highly talented Chinese servant girl in the book "Xenocide" by Orson Scott Card. She
was hired as secret maid to a godspoken lady, became her student for a while and later aided in the work of scientists
and great reforms of her world. The sequel "Children of the Mind" tells of her adventures travelling the universe
and helping the sentient computer program "Jane".
Dr Eva Myers gained a PhD in mineral physics at the University of Cambridge, and then decided she had had enough of job-hunting every three years and wanted more stability in her life than she would have as a postdoc. She became the system administrator for the Statistical Laboratory, University of Cambridge. Her home page can be found at: http://www.statslab.cam.ac.uk/~eva/ |
