Super Bowl VIII|Super Bowl X
January 12, 1975
The Steelers won in their first (but certainly not last) Super Bowl appearance, using their overpowering defense to stymie the Vikings, who lost the championship game for the third time.
Minnesota's only score came from a blocked punt and they only accumulated 119 yards in total offense, with only 17 of those yards coming from the ground. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, racked up 333 yards, with MVP running back Franco Harris setting a new Super Bowl record for single player rushing yardage with 158 yards on 34 carries.
Attendance for the game was 80,997. Pittsburgh head coach Chuck Noll got his first of four titles here, while Minnesota coach Bud Grant went home (relatively) empty-handed ... again.
