Toshiba. You have to be careful buying them, though, because the model numbers don't indicate the capabilities of the
computer. So a Tecra 8000 could be anything from a 12.1" with
Pentium II 166
MHz processor up to a 14.1" with
Pentium III 366
MHz processor. What's up with that? Why do computer manufacturers have to confuse us like that?
Also, Tecras are extremely Linux-friendly. Standby mode works and there's even an interface for switching the inbuilt fan on and off. Of course it also runs Windows in its various forms and guises.
